WHAT IS A CONTRACT PILOT?

Contract pilot is a term used to describe an independent contractor who flies aircraft for private companies or individuals. A contract pilot is trained and certified as a commercial pilot who qualifies for getting compensated for flying. These types of pilots work directly with corporate or individual clients to fly aircraft to transport passengers or cargo from location to location. The contract can consist of a single trip or multiple trips. Contract pilots are great for having someone you can count on to reliably transport goods or individuals on an as-needed basis.

As independent contractors, contract pilots are responsible for maintaining their own credentials and insurance.
