RECURRENT TRAINING

At Chiota Aviation, we offer more than just flight programs. Our certified flight instructors are able to assist you with recurrent training to keep you up to date with FAA-regulated flight reviews, FAA and private insurance carrier regulations, and instrument proficiency checks. Check out our recurrent training programs below and Contact Us if you have any questions regarding these programs.

WHAT IS RECURRENT TRAINING?

Recurrent training is training that is designed to be a scheduled refresher course that pilots must go through on a regular basis to stay current on certifications and FAA regulations. Recurrent training can be done in person, online, or a combination of both. At Chiota Aviation, we prefer to provide recurrent training in person with our various certified pilots.

FAA REGULATED FLIGHT REVIEWS

A flight review is an instructional service designed to assess a pilot’s knowledge and skills. For holders of pilot certificates issued by the United States Federal Aviation Administration, a flight review (previously the FAA referred to this as a biennial flight review, usually abbreviated BFR) is a review required of every active holder of a U.S. pilot certificate at least every 24 calendar month. The flight review consists of at least 1 hour of ground instruction and 1 hour in-flight with a qualified flight instructor, although completion of any Phase of the FAA WINGS program also satisfies the requirement for a flight review.

INSTRUMENT PROFICIENCY CHECKS (IPC)

The Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) is a flight review for pilots who currently hold a valid instrument rating but have not recently flown using instrument procedures. The IPC is a full review of procedures and knowledge needed to fly an aircraft on an instrument flight plan and under instrument meteorological flight conditions.

SPIN AWARENESS TRAINING

Our spin awareness training teaches pilot prevention measures, as well as how to quickly and effectively recover from a spin. This is great training for both beginner and experienced pilots as this can be life-saving training. Having a refresher course on spin awareness never hurts and is a great way to sharpen your aviation skills. Chiota Aviation offers in-house spin training with our certified instructors.
